Fabulous day on the slopes
Naw, we didn’t go skiing, but had another adventure: tobogganing.
We visited a family that I’ve written about before. I absolutely adore this family, the mom, D, and I get along so well and chat very easily. There’s never any dry spots, most likely because we have so much in common: homeschooling, number of kids (she has close to the number I want *snort*), Catholic, and adoption. When I wrote before I wrote how I was uncomfortable there, but it didn’t happen again today, which I was thankful for. I hated that feeling the first time and didn’t want to feel I had to impress anyone this time.
D phoned us up early this morning and asked if we wanted to come out there for some great tobogganing instead of our weekly swimming trek. Of course we jumped at the opportunity as we all love the snow, and what kid doesn’t like tobogganing?
They live in a beautiful area near the mountains so their snow accumulation last night was more than ours, but not so much that I couldn’t get out there on the tiny country roads. We had so much fun. I only wish I would’ve brought my camera as they would’ve provided great candid shots. Even Sweet Pea went down.
I, however, did not go down. Unfortunately Sweet Pea gets a little clingy to me, and only me, so the likelihood of him being fine while I went 80 metres down a hill was pretty much nil. That and I can no longer fit into my snowpants. If I don’t lose enough weight soon I won’t be able to go skiing this year because of this. It’s not just the fit of my snow pants but once I get skis on I cannot get up for the life of me with them on, my belly gets in the way. Yes, embarassing, but hopefully it’s embarassing enough for me to watch what goes in my mouth.
I’ll get there eventually, and this year for sure as I want to learn to snowboard with Bing.
